The EAGMA show has several different components and much to offer. In the livestock competition there is a White Angora Goat and a Colored Angora Goat competition. These feature traditional categories with bucks, does, adults and kids. There is also an ever-expanding fleece competition. Sales are on going through out the show by each attending farm.
The show has a many vendors; inventory usually includes all kinds of yarn, fiber, fiber art and craft, processing equipment and accessories.
During each show there is a focus on education of some aspect of Angora goats and/or fiber art. There are usually at least two seminars with keynote speakers. We have had lectures on goat health & breeding; education on farm management issues; demonstrations and classes on fiber art topics.
We hope to create a sense of community and camaraderie within our membership through the show, seminars, demonstrations and activities. There is also an open meeting of the board for the members to attend.
We welcome the public to come learn and shop for their livestock and fiber needs. It is a wonderful opportunity for those interested in goats and fiber to meet some of the areas best fiber farmer & artists and experts in the field.
We welcome all EAGMA members to participate in the livestock show, fleece competition, and vendor booths.
