1. The Annual show: The annual show is a great place to come learn about angora goats, both colored and white. It’s a uniquely good opportunity to shop around and buy goats. There are educational seminars and fiber classes. Many goat and fiber farms to see and meet.
2. The Newsletter: Our newsletter is available in several formats, hard copy, email and archived on our website for members. It is not just a report from the Board, it’s a wealth of information about goats. We list up coming activities and events. The NoKidding column is all about health & welfare of Angoras. There are stories about farms in the EAGMA community. Lots of photos, now in color. Show pictures and results.
3. The New Updated Web-Site: Our web site goal is to have it be a living and evolving site always addressing the current ideas, needs, and interests of our members. We want it to be clear and user friendly. We want you to be able to get the answers your looking for, meet the folks your looking for, and find the angora products and services you seek right here.
4. The Market Place. The Market Place is one of the new features of our website and we estimate it to be one of the most popular. EAGMA members are working Angora goat farms, or folks related to serving this ever growing cottage industry. The Market place is designed to be an effective tool for helping you connect to the sources you need for extensive fiber inventory, livestock, livestock products, and fiber support materials.
5. A featured farm listing: With your new membership or membership renewal you will get one free listing in our Market Place. Your free listing will appear for the year (length of annual membership).
6. The camaraderie and network connections: EAGMA is a community. Join in, discover the human resources, learn from the experienced, share your experiences.
7. The Mohair Pool: We offer one possible opportunity for you to sell all your fiber. Perhaps you have fiber you are not useing, this is viable means of making some income from all your unwanted fiber. The Mohair pool is periodic. We are attempting to do the pool every other year.
8. The brochure: We have a small tri-fold brochure available to members as a downloadable .PDF file. It is a brief introduction to EAGMA and is packed with other information; such as, a brief history of the breed, the breed’s physical make up, care and health information, about the fiber, and other resources. It is useful to members to use personally or at shows, for their own farm tours. Quite a handy little document.
